Climbing Castle Hill using "Goat tracks is fairly hard work. Susan and I climbed the hill 5 times using these tracks rather than the road. Here Susan is working up one of the rock sections in this one kilometre climb
. Our physical condition has certainly improved.
The suburb of West Townsville is immediately below while Mt Stuart is on the horizon

The very top of the hill. University students painted the image of "The Saint" on the cliff face immediately to the right of this photo. This was a uni prank with the first image of the Saint appeared in about 1963. It is now a Townsville land mark and is renewed by students when they think it's necessary.
