Eastern View
Decending castle hill is not so difficult. You can at least take some time to enjoy the views a little more. The City centre is directly below this rock face.
Magnetic island is in the background.
Southern view.
Follow the leader as Susan shows the way. As an Aries she cannot abide following me in either the ascent or decent. I'm sure both our phisical conditioning has improved as a result of these outings.
About halfway back to the vehicle. The rock sections were easier to walk on as the other sections of track had soil and decomposed granite which tended to roll underfoot.
Thank God that's over for now. This was a relatively short climb. A friend, Neville Quigley who was in training for walks in Kakudu, has been on the hill for several weeks carrying ever increasing loads. He invited us on a one trip on the hill lasting an hour and a half while he carried a 20 kilo pack.
