Our Weipa house sit. This is owned by Ross and Sandra Henderson. A typical Weipa home built by the mines many years ago. Ross and Sandra are particularly house proud with a very good lawn and yard. The home is a challenge to keep it in the same order that Sandra does, but we are happy to oblige. You'll see photos of the "Henderson Hounds" in one of these blogs. They are the main reason Ross and Sandra have offered the housesit.

We are fortunate that the family gave use full use of their Cairns Custom Craft boat. Ross encouraged us to use it regularly. We’ve been out in it 6 times to date. This was one of the beautiful calm mornings prior to a departure from Rocky Point boat ramp up the Mission River.

It hasn’t been difficult to see crocs up here. More difficult to get a good picture of one though! Here a young 2 metre croc allowed us to approach fairly close. The bigger crocs were much more timid, sliding into the river at a distance. You can see more crocs in the Proserpine River on a good day but there are plenty here.

At the end of the day the clean up has to be done Posted by Picasa
